I began writing Yogurt & Whey: Recipes from an Iranian Immigrant Life years ago. Back before I was married, before I had kids, when my yogurt company, The White Moustache, was barely off the ground.
It’s been the hardest, most painful thing I’ve ever done.
I’ve loved it. I’ve hated it. I’ve loved it again.
It tells stories about my Zoroastrian community, presents traditional dishes like ghormeh sabzi, and uses traditional ingredients such as yogurt whey to make tasty treats like lemon meringue pie.
